There is routine, scheduled pipeline work happening south of Highway 160 near the River Ridge area.
Both Huerfano Fire and La Veta Fire are aware of this work, which is supervised and does involve flare-off flame that can be seen from Highway 160.
Land and homeowners who are impacted by it are receiving direct notification from the company performing the work.
These pipeline operations will continue through May 23.
