In November 2006, County voters passed a lodging and tourism tax to promote Huerfano County as a destination. The Huerfano County Tourism Board independently manages those funds and promotes the County as Spanish Peaks Country.
The Tourism Board meets the 1st Wednesday of the month at 3PM.
The Tourism Board has at least three and at most seven members. Members must generally be a part of the local lodging industry or have extensive experience in the tourism industry.
The mission of the Huerfano County Tourism Board is to enhance the quality of life for residents by bringing visitors to our county, having a positive impact on our economy while preserving our environment and culture.
