Veteran counseling and therapeutic services in Huerfano County on June, 2nd starting at 0900. Mobile Vet Center will be at the Spanish Peaks Hospital next to the helicopter landing pad. No appointment necessary. New clients can get an Intake Packet beforehand from the county VSO or get one upon arrival. The mobile Vet Center provides,
- Individual and group counseling for veterans and their families
- Family counseling for military related issues
- Bereavement counseling for families who experience an active duty death
- Military Sexual Trauma counseling (MST) and referral
- Substance abuse assessment and referral
- VBA benefits explanation and referral
- Screening and referral for medical issues including TBI, depression, et cetera
This service is free for eligible veterans with campaign ribbon from any military confrontation and their families! Treatment records are not included into the veteran’s main VA medical record unless given permission to disclose to VBA, VHA, and other parties. Privacy is highly regarded. If the service is not being used by our county veterans and their families, the mobile Vet Center with cease its return visits.
